Rifat Palevic Conquers WSOP $1,000 NLHE Super Turbo Bounty Event

The Swedish poker player Rifat Palevic returned on the poker arena, by winning the 2017 WSOP $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super Turbo Bounty event, becoming the latest WSOP bracelet holder. Over the period from 2009 to 2011, Palevic managed to finish in the money in a number of World Series of Poker (WSOP), but after that took a few years off the poker tables.

Now, he came back to the WSOP and managed to make a powerful return, by emerging victorious from the Super Turbo event. This was also one of the first tournaments he takes part in outside Europe for quite a while. The player himself explained that he had been playing a lot outside Europe and Sweden, but over the last few years he preferred to stick primarily to local games in order to be closer to his family.

In order to win the event and be crowned as a winner, Rifat Palevic outlasted a massive players field of 1,868 entries, taking home a guaranteed prize pool portion of $183,903 and his first WSOP gold bracelet. The monetary prize he got after emerging victorious from the event, was also the largest one which Palevic has generated so far. The player’s total live winnings to date amount to $1,121,100.

The WSOP $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super Turbo Bounty event featured the so-called turbo structure, with levels being only 20 minutes long, which made the game more fast-paced than ever. Palevic himself explained that the event’s structure and rules suited him perfectly and said how glad he was to win the event’s title.

Only seven players out of 1,868 entries survived until the final table of the event, which only lasted two hours. At this time, Palevic was among the competitors with the shortest stacks, but he managed to double up a number of times and survived until the heads-up fight against the American poker pro Ryan Olisar. At the time of the three-handed play, it was Olisar who got the biggest chip stack, but Palevic succeeded to overcome his rivalry in order to conquer the tournament’s event. Eventually, Olisar was also the only player apart from the winner who got a six-figure money portion of the guaranteed prize pool.

With Rifat Palevic emerging as winner of the WSOP $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super Turbo Bounty event and getting a guaranteed prize pool portion estimated to $183,903, Ryan Olisar remained as a runner-up, winning a total of $113,581. The third place of the ranking was occupied by Dean Blatt, who got a consolation prize of $82,227.

Robert Heidorn remained fourth, followed by Robert Heidorn. The sixth place was taken by Joe Montervino, while the seventh position was occupied by Gavin O’Rourke. George Dolofan was eighth, and the ninth position was occupied by Victor Kim for a cash prize of $14,685.
